Len Gurts Deep

Loved me for years:
“Soul mate, my soul mate!”
Then too deep, too deep—
said I was, “Too deep!”
and ran away from me.

Then came back!

And I said, “Stop looking a gift horse.”
And she said, “But you neigh-ver did seem so!”
And I said, “Nor you, my trusty steed.”
And she said, “Now you’re just being silly—I love you!”

And I said I said I said,
“Now don’t you get too deep now.”
